Pieces of My Life

​

The Deity  is a poem taken from many writings over the years. This piece is included in selected works, published by my husband in A Different Kind of Love.  The thousands of snippets, pieces of my life, were written from early youth, continue to this day; some are loving, observing, indifferent, and dark but then these are all a part of living.

 

 

                                                                When I write,

                                                       words come quickly and

                                                                 flow freely

                                                    –ignorant of all literary rules.

The Deity

 

When your heart cries out

without sound,

and everyone is distant,

                            God is listening.

 

When you are choking with fear,

from enemies unknown,

and your mind begs surrender;

                            God is strength.

 

When everyone forsakes you,

and your touch,

reaches no one;

                            God is acceptance.

 

Eager and ready is he,

to listen,

give you strength,

and love your differences

others judge;

                        God is waiting.
